SPECIAL NOTICE

This will be the last newsletter that will be mailed to all New Mark First Pool Association residents. All newsletters are available on line at www.newmark-brooking.org. All past and future newsletters will be available on this website. This site includes information about our neighborhood including restrictions and any upcoming events that affect our community. Please check the site often. If you are not online contact Eugene Gruhler at 734-9547 or Paula Reed at 734-9921. Deadline May 1st.

Your involvement in your community is very important to the success of your Homes Association. It’s easy to become involved by simply attending your neighborhood board meetings which are held every 2nd Sunday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the clubhouse. We welcome and encourage everyone to attend as often as possible.

Slow Down...Summer's Coming
A reminder to all that the speed limit is 25 miles an hour. The school year is coming to a close and with the pool opening soon we will have more children out playing and riding their bikes. Drivers keep a heads up and slow down.

Garage Sale
Will be Saturday April 23rd. If you plan on being in the sale and want to take advantage of the special advertising price of $3.00 go to Sunfresh for sign up information. This year the Ozanam Home for boys and girls will be in the area on Monday April 25th to pick up any items you would like to donate. Items must be bagged or boxed. Please call 816-965-9300 by April 20th to list your address for this pick up.

Grounds
A reminder--the covenants and Restrictions prohibit homeowners from sweeping or blowing sweetgum balls [or leaves, grass, etc.] into the streets or sewers.
PLEASE--do not feed the geese or wild animals in the Neighborhood. They create a lot of damage to the greenways [and lake] that is very costly to the homes association and home owners.

Annual Cleanup
Clean up of the pool and clubhouse area will be May 7. Everyone's held is needed, bring your gloves, lawn tools, and neighborhood spirit.

Restrictions
Included in this newsletter is a "Violation of Restrictions" form. If you are reporting a violation, this form MUST be completed and the complainant MUST attend an Association meeting to discuss the alleged violation in detail. As a reminder, boats, non-operational vehicles, and trailers are not to be stored on your property. Also listed in the New Mark Declarations and restrictions is the general upkeep of homeowners property-this would include weed control, lawn mowing and refuse disposal, etc. Go to the website www.newmark-brooking.org.

Clubhouse
We are currently renovating the men's and women's restrooms at the clubhouse. They should be ready at the time of pool opening. The clubhouse is available for rental to New Mark FPA residents at $50.00 plus $100.00 deposit. The deposit is refunded if the clubhouse cleanup is acceptable. Contact Pat Shomin at 734-2925 for more information.

Swimming Pool
The 2005 swimming pool season will start Memorial Day weekend. Pool hours are posted on the pool gate. All homeowners who have paid their annual dues, have signed and returned the updated pool rules have had their pool cards activated. Reminder: children under the age of 10 need to be accompanied by an adult at all times. Contact Eugene Gruhler at 734-9547 if you are a new resident in need of a pool card or a current resident in need of a replacement card. (Replacement pool card cost is $20) Allow one week to activate new pool cards.
[Webmaster's note: more information can be found on the Pool Key Card Information page.]
