A happy hello to all New Mark residents and a warm welcome to all the new families that have moved into our neighborhood recently!
Your involvement in your community is very important to the success of your Association. It’s easy to become involved by simply attending your neighborhood Board meetings which are held every 2nd Sunday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the clubhouse. We welcome and encourage everyone to attend as often as possible.
Slow Down...Summer's Coming
A reminder to all that the speed limit is 25 miles an hour. The school year is coming to a close and with the pool opening soon we will have more children out playing and riding their bikes. Drivers, be alert and please slow down.
Garage Sale
Will be Saturday May 6th. If you plan on being in the sale and want to take advantage of the special advertising price of $3.00 go to Sunfresh for sign up information.
Grounds
A reminder--the covenants and Restrictions prohibit homeowners from sweeping or blowing yard waste, including sweetgum balls, leaves, grass, etc. into the streets or sewers.
PLEASE--do not feed the geese or wild animals in the Neighborhood--they create a lot of damage to the greenways--and lake--that is very costly to the Association and surrounding homeowners.
Annual Cleanup
Clean up of the pool and clubhouse area will be May 6th. Everyone's help is needed--bring your gloves, lawn tools, and neighborhood spirit.
Restrictions
If you are reporting a violation, the complainant MUST attend an Association meeting to discuss the alleged violation in detail. When reporting violations we need addresses, dates, and descriptions in order for the Board to take action. As Board members we are tasked with enforcing the neighborhood Covenants and Restrictions but are not tasked with policing the neighborhood for violations--we depend on the neighborhood residents to bring violations to our notice.
This is the season we receive a number of complaints about car, boat, camper, and trailer storage. As a reminder, boats, non-operational vehicles, and trailers are not to be stored on your property. There's a rather indistinct line between what constitutes reasonable use and what becomes a storage issue--the Board has in the past typically considered the presence of vehicles, campers, trailers, or boats for less than 2 weeks as reasonable use, and if present for longer than 30 days (especially if there's no evidence of anyone prepping it for use) the Board would have the grounds to view its presence as a 'storage' violation.
Also listed in the New Mark Declarations and restrictions is the general upkeep of homeowners property-this would include weed control, lawn mowing and refuse disposal, etc. See the Covenants & Restrictions page for more details.
Clubhouse
We have plans this year to renovate the clubhouse interior--fixing cracks, retexturing, repainting, and new carpeting. The clubhouse is available for rental to New Mark FPA residents at $50.00 plus $100.00 deposit. The deposit is refunded if the clubhouse cleanup is acceptable. Contact Toni Browning via the NMFPA Contact form for more information.
Swimming Pool
The 2006 swimming pool season will start Memorial Day weekend. We will be discussing changes to pool access, operations, and rules at the May Board meeting and encourage all residents concerned with pool access, operations, and rules to attend the meeting. Pool hours will be posted on the pool gate. Contact Eugene Gruhler via the NMFPA Contact form if you are a new resident in need of a pool card or a current resident in need of a replacement card. (Replacement pool card cost is $20.00.) Allow one week to activate new pool cards. More information can be found on the Pool Key Card Information page.
